31 March 2006

Uno solo.

Sveglia.
Doccia.
Tram, leggendo Metro.
Milltown, Cowper, Beechwood, Ranelagh, Charlemont, Harcourt, St. Stephen Green.
Scendo.
"In bocca al lupo" "Grazie" "Anzi no, crepi".
Mattina a ripassare, o meglio, a studiare.
E' l'ora sesta, mezzogiorno, coda all'ingresso.
Trenta secondi.
Potete iniziare.
Cronometro che parte.
Inizio a scrivere.
Un'ora, prima domanda.
Altra ora, seconda domanda.
Solita mezzapinta post-esame.
Tram.
Sonno.
Ne rimane uno solo, di esame.

"Bau" or "Woof"?

Bau, not woof.
Miao, not meow.
Muu, not moo.

Because of a number of reasons, from tomorrow minux.it will be again in Italian only.

Apologies to the English-only users, you won't probably be able to read my blog, but I can still read yours... :)

ps: whose
dog is that?
no idea... I simply stole a picture from Cosmo :)

26 March 2006

Quick.

Quick, not much time left.
In this moment everything looks like a waste of time. I would not give a penny for what I'm doing.
Energies burnt for nothing.
This is "wasting" time.
Will I ever be able to "use" time?

23 March 2006

It's over

I'm not good in planning.
Probably I ate too much of it.
Anyway, now it's almost finished.
And this is sad.
Parmisan, I miss you.

ps: for all who loves this kind of hats/scarfs, look what I found!

21 March 2006

Far from here.

Far from here.
In a warm place.
Where it never rains.
Where no exams are due.
No work is to be done.
Deadline are unknown.
No words to find.
No things to plan.
No relationships to grow.
No worries.
Spare time.
My mind is there, in such a place.
If there's one.

In the picture of today, matt and his girlfriend. Pardon, his sister... :)

16 March 2006

German pictures.

Finally, some pictures from last weekend at the CeBIT!

Lubeck by night in the snow, a magic atmosphere...

Lally in breakfast-mode...

Lubeck symbols...

Ice on the car (thanks Sixt for giving us two BMW at the same price of two Golf)...

Dave and his radio-belt...

An horrible and insignificant pair of headphones with integrated VU-meter: after I took this picture the chinese expositor ran after me to desperately ask "are you a reseller? we're looking for european resellers..."

Every Chinese stand had this red/white flag on top. Some pavilions where literally "invaded" by these flags...

The stand of IBM: it reaches the horizon, look the TV screens...

One of the many 'improbable' cooler systems...

The new Intel logo. A leap ahead...

I'd like a PC case like this one, certified for military operations...

Dual head: not a new idea, but always surprising...

Few people will understand the irony of this picture...

Branding...

One of the strangest and most painstaking stands...

Weekends...

This is just an advice to those people that are thinking about a weekend in Ireland between Easter and the end of May. Consider that:

1)
from the April 25th there'll be a new daily flight from and to MilanoOrio and Dublin with Ryanair, starting from 19€ (+ taxes) one way.

2) from today the rules about luggage with Ryanair are changed: now you can save a wonderful 3.50€ per flight if you travel without checked-in luggage. no comment :|

3) check these pages on skyscanner.net for fares in april and may with aerlingus/ryanair.

Sorry for the boring post, but it's easier for me to write here than to tell this to everyone each time...

14 March 2006

Broken...

'cause it's broken broken
Something got broken like stolen
Stolen, like if it was stolen
[Elisa - Broken]

Broken as:
- the "upload picture" function of Blogger in this moment, so I can't publish the pictures of last weekend at the Cebit.
- myself after two days of vomit, diarrhoea, fever, headaches and sleeping in German hostels.

Tomorrow everything will be better.
Goodnight.

10 March 2006

Leaving

See you next Tuesday, I'm going there. :)

08 March 2006

Zoppo.

"Chi va con lo zoppo impara a zoppicare..."
"Going with a lame man one learns to limp..."

[italian proverb]

Everyone has a first time and everything is a first time.

Tonight is time for Lisa: cooking on her own a quite complex and good-smelling soup!

Not enough, she has shown to be:
- irish by putting some smashed potato in it (is there an irish dish without potatoes? Why does the chocolate icecream have a potato-flavour here?)
- nerd, by sending me a mail at 8 in the morning saying only "you were so right about the drizzle of olive oil on the soup - delicious". I think in TrinityHall 80% of daily communications are told on mail/msn/skype or by morsecode on the walls...

Anyway, this post is to record this historical event.
Watch the news today on RTE and BBC to learn more...
Bon appétit :)

07 March 2006

A picture story.

Not enough time to blog properly, so I'll sum up these weekends using a bunch of pictures.

The american approach to the efficient Italian trains...

The beauty of the Sacro Monte...

The Duomo from above...

Part of the "proud to be brescian" community...

Shopping in Venice...

My guests...

Sofia before she destroyed her forehead...

Alberto (on the left 2004 in Koln, on the right 2006 in Portrush).

Jim... no words :)

Small details...

Colours...

Feet...

ps: i'll upload more in the "slides" section asap...

03 March 2006

Which Giacomo do you want to be?

For three days or more minux.it will be updated by dabigt.org.
We'll substitute Gequito, aka Mino, because in next days he's going to have fun somewhere in the Northern Ireland.
This is an important lesson in our life: do you want to live or do you want to write?
In a way, you have to decide wich Giacomo do you want to be: Giacomo Bernardi or Giacomo Leopardi.
Tough question...

Have fun Gequito, I'll know that you'll read this somewhere, maybe in a wireless toilette...

Be cool
Stewe

02 March 2006

Still here...

Just a quick post via wireless from the kitchen sofa, since Alberto and Sofia are sleeping on my floor...

I'm still alive...

Uh?

  • Tra il dire e il fare c'è di mezzo il mare!
Ancient Italian proverb, which literal translation is Between doing and saying lies the sea. It means something like Easier said than done.
